How It Works

The Chipdrive software is quick and easy to install meaning you will be up and running in less than a hour. Once done you can start setting up your company rules and begin adding you employees.

Adding your employees is quick and easy, you create your new employee on screen, input their name and personal details before setting up their working week or shift pattern. Then simply insert a blank user card into the USB card reader and click 'Create user card", the card is then written with the employees details. That's it, your employee can now start clocking in and out.

Employees simply clock in and out by sliding their smart card into the side of the Chipdrive terminal, if you are using the job costing module your employee can enter their project and activity number though the keypad when clocking. Allowing you to track the time spent on each project or job.

When you want to download the clocking data you simply take the transport card to the clocking terminal, insert it and all the clockings are downloaded in less than a minute. Then return to your PC with the transport card, place it in the USB card reader and the clockings are downloaded into the Totaltime software. Each employees timesheet can be viewed individually along with their leave planner, allowing you to quickly and easily see what a particular employee has worked.

When it comes to payroll you can simply produce a report for all your employees either to your printer or to a file such as Excel. The comprehensive reports allow you to view a hours summary or a full timesheet with clocking times, along with flexi-time balances and job costing data if required.

Software Features

The Chipdrive software has been design to be quick and easy to install and use. It provides you an electronic alternative to using traditional clocking cards and saves the time that is required manual calculating an employees timesheet.

Standard or Flexible working times for each day and week may be setup per employee.

Flexi-time can also be monitored, including monthly balances and carry-overs.

Job costing allows employees to clock on to a specific project and if required an activity as well.

Can be setup for either weekly, biweekly, monthly or semi monthly pay periods.

An employees clockings may be rounded to the nearest 5, 6, 10 or 15 minutes.

Working patterns / shifts can be configured with up to 3 automatic lunch and break deductions if required.

Calendars for scheduling public and annual holiday, sickness and free days.

Automatic highlighting of days when employees forget to clock in or out and are absent.

The Employee file allows you to store some basic employees details including employee name and pay number, employee group, address, contact phone numbers, hourly pay rate, start date and leave date.

The Chipdrive software contains a selection of reports of both detailed and summary reports. All the reports can be printed out to your printer or they may be saved as Excel files for further use.

Will allow data to be downloaded from multiple clocking devices.

Clocking Terminal

Large graphical display shows date, time and employee name when clocking.

Network connected via local area network (TCP/IP, Ethernet) allowing real-time communication with the software. If if the connection to the software is lost the device has an emergency buffer that will store 1,000 clockings.

Employees can clock on to project/jobs and sub activities using the keypad, the menu navigation allows easy operation of all functions.

When an employee leaves their smart card may be re-used.
